Why This Kolaveri Di

Coca Cola, 2011 called to ask why you're making covers of 'Why this Kolaveri Di'. But seriously, everyone remembers that song, right? Dhanush singing a seemingly nonsensical song in an exaggerated South Indian accent was probably the first Indian video to go viral immediately.

That song went from catchy to viral to annoying in one week and it got steadily more annoying everyday with newer covers and versions of it hitting YouTube, thereafter. But that was nearly 4 years ago.

This new Coca Cola ad features a Turkish version of that song, and just like the original, it is annoyingly catchy. Also, the video is so very Bollywood!

Sweepers search for grains of gold, precious stones in drains

All that glitters in Sarafa Bazaar of Jhansi is not gold. This is proved as over two dozen extremely poor Muslims in Jhansi town have been searching for gold in the dirty sewer lines of the area since centuries. Their 'escavation' starts around 2 am in the night and continues till 9 am in the morning when the jewellers open their shops.
There is a nullah before majority of these jewellery shops in which garbage and feces flow. These people of the Muslim sweeper community collect the dirty water and mud from the nullahs. They then extract elements of gold and silver by heating it and then reselling it to the jewellers. Occasionally, they also stumble upon costly stones besides grains of gold and silver.

They also sweep the road with small brushes and often find coils and currency notes that customers drop by mistake.

Despite carrying shallow pans, trowel and small buckets, the collection of mud and dirty water is done with their bare hands.

When at work, they hardly talk to each other. However, their mechanical coordination suggests that they have been doing this activity since decades.

"We also search for gold in the localities where jewellers live. Their family members wear heavy gold ornaments. Negligible parts of the gold polish get washed when they take bath. That flows into the nullahs. We collect this water every day and keep extracting gold from it. We collect gold worth Rs.1,000-4,000 a month and sell it back to the jewellers," said Mohammad Khaliq who is into this job.

He added: "Later, we wash the dirt and filter it using white clothes. Sometimes, we boil the collected water or dirt to extract valuables."

Anwar Alam, another person involved in this trade, said: "We belong to the sweeper community. It is our traditional job, which has been passed onto us by our parents. We started accompanying our elders from the age of 10 or 12 and learnt this art over the years."

He said: "We don't do anything that we shouldn't do. All we are trying is to survive by putting in hard work. I am doing this for the past 35 years and I am comfortable in it."

He said that one can earn up to Rs.250 after a day's toil in the Sarafa Bazar.

Alam added: "If lucky, we also find jewellery that a customer has lost. People ask us why we do such an obnoxious job. I tell them that our present and future lies in the dirt."

Raghav Verma, a jeweller, said: "Wastage of gold and silver is inevitable while manufacturing jewellery. We melt it and then put it in a frame to give it a particular shape. Later, it's cutting and carving is done. The process is so complicated that very small particles, invisible when seen with naked eyes, fall on the floor. The loss is also inevitable during polishing of gold."

"అమ్మని, దేవుడిని చూడాలంటే మనమే వెళ్ళాలి, వాళ్ళని ఎందుకు పిలవటం" -Trivikram srinivas

Pawan Kalyan was entirely a person of different attitude before meeting his present close pal Trivikram Srinivas. The Power Star was introverted and used to keep away from public events. But, Pawan has changed totally in Trivikram’s friendship. The actor is behaving according to the friend’s suggestions. He is mingling with people and even speaking to gathering at audio launch events.

Earlier to this, Pawan never cared about the scripts and worked in some really meaningless movies post the hit of Kushi. But, he is now concerned about stories and involving Trivikram in story sittings of all his films including his next project Gabbar Singh 2. A fact is that, Pawan is a kind hearted person and helped many people in industry as well as outsiders.

Craze and following enjoyed by Pawan is not simply because of films or his style. This is mainly due to good helping nature. General patrons are also becoming Pawan fans after knowing many good things on him. To earn money for helping the others, Pawan is now entering into the world of brand endorsements. Other friend Sharath Marar is looking after the International deals of Power Star.

When fans asked him to speak about Pawan Kalyan, Trivikram said: "During a phone conversation we had before coming to this event, Kalyan Garu questioned me what would be my answer if someone asked Me why he didn't grace the audio launch. I will use an already written dialogue of mine in this context - 'Ammani, Devudini Choodalante Maname Vellali, Vallani Enduku Pilavatam'. I believe Allu Arjun, Me and S/O Satyamurthy Team will have the blessings of my dear friend Kalyan Garu".

Fans went berserk upon hearing the speech of Trivikram about Pawan Kalyan. The words of the filmmaker hint that he admires Powerstar a lot for various reasons.

The Reserve Bank of India is set to circulate the notes, which will be in pink green on obverse and reverse in combination with other colours.

“The RBI will soon put in circulation currency notes in one rupee denomination. The notes will be printed by the Government of India,” the Reserve Bank said.

With a motive to free capacity to print currency notes of higher denomination, printing of one rupee note was discontinued in November 1994.
